The pages come from an old (1952?) Look or Collier Magazine, I found among my swamp of UFO stuff.
I agree, the "renditions" may have the taint of the artist who drew them from the observers' description.
But even then, the drawings are closer to solid objects than what is being described currently (except for the triangular UFOs, which I think are prototypical military aircraft).
These pics are not those of the original witnesses, I am pretty certain. They are an artist's rendition based on the description.

I seriously wonder if they resemble what the witnesses actually saw.
